Riječki karneval

 

The final or the Big Rijeka Carnival Parade has been growing and blossoming over the last thirty years and, almost overnight, from the three carnival groups in 1982, it has grown into over 150 carnival groups. This compelled the organisers, the Rijeka Tourist Board, to limit the number of carnival groups in the parade.

 

Therefore, in the last couple of years the number must not exceed a hundred groups. However, no one can or wants to limit the number of spectators that, depending on the weather conditions, have never been less than 100,000, and one year the number reached as many as 150,000 people.
